3.1  Recognized Holidays:

New Years Day
Lincoln's Birthday
Washington's Birthday
Memorial Day
Independence Day (July 4th)
Labor Day
Veteran's Day
Columbus Day
Thanksgiving
Friday Following Thanksgiving
Christmas
Floating Holiday

3.2  Compensation

3.2.1 56 hour employees shall not receive time off, but shall receive 12 hours of extra pay at their hourly rate for all eleven twelve holidays. 56 hour employees assigned to a 12 hour shift shall not receive time off, but shall receive 6 hours of extra pay at their hourly rate for all twelve holidays.

3.2.2 40 hour employees shall receive the day off. Holidays which fall on Saturday shall be observed on the preceding Friday. Holidays which fall on Sunday shall be observed on the following Monday. An employee who works a holiday, at department request, shall receive 1 1/2 times their normal pay. Lincoln's and Washington's Birthday shall be observed on a Friday or Monday closest to the actual date. All other holidays shall be celebrated on their actual date or the date designated as a national holiday.

3.2.2.1 Floating holidays shall be requested two weeks prior to the desired time off.

3.2.2.2 Floating Holidays shall be used each calendar year or they will be lost.

3.3  Payment

3.3.1 56 hour employees may accumulate holiday pay for a one year period.

3.3.2 Accumulated holiday pay must be collected prior to pay period 25 or it will be automatically paid by the district to the employee.

3.3.3 Accumulated holiday pay may be requested at any time during the year. Eight days prior notice shall be given prior to requested pay day.
