Assignment Description:
To perform, in addition to their regular duty assignments, the duties of district training officer.
Supervisor: Chief or designate.
Nature of Duties:
The training officer performs responsible, technical and administrative work in coordinating, directing and participating in fire training and suppression. Also performs specific administrative assignments on a routine basis and other related work as required. Organizes, instructs and directs comprehensive training program for volunteer and paid personnel. Prepares budgets, work schedule, training schedules, and maintains reports and records for all personnel. Establishes and maintains an effective working relationship with fellow employees and the public. Performs related work as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
Knowledge of principles of supervision, modern firefighting and rescue techniques, and the incident command system. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely orally and in writing. Be familiar with district policies and procedures, standard operation procedure.
