SPECIAL DUTY ASSIGNMENT
17.2 Personal Equipment Officer

Assignment Description:
Perform the duties of personal equipment officer, in addition to their regular duty assignment.
Supervisor : Chief or designate
Nature of Duties:
Responsible for the purchase of new and replacement personal equipment.
Example: (The following is used as a partial description and is not restrictive as to the duties required).
Purchase personal equipment as required. Maintain clothing allowance records for paid personnel. Supplies volunteer personnel with dress uniforms as needed; including badges, arm patches. Issues pagers, turnout gear and maintains records of such issuance. Notifies chief or designate, of equipment needs. maintains an inventory of reserve turnout gear. Insures return of all gear and emergency personal equipment of employees who have resigned or have been terminated. Any other assignments as required.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Good knowledge of: Present day equipment costs; uniform and turnout requirements and record keeping.
Minimum requirements:
Minimum of 18 years old
High school graduate
or equivalent
