SPECIAL DUTY ASSIGNMENT

Assignment Description:
To perform, in addition to his/her duty assignment, the duties of lead paramedic.
Position Description:
To perform the duties of a lead paramedic: Supervise Medic 48 personnel,
Supervisor(s) : District Assistant Chief.
Nature of Duties:
Oversee ordering and stocking medical supplies and forms. Oversee that all medical and fire equipment assigned to Diamond station 48 is checked and operational on a regular basis. Report to supervisor all needed repairs on Medic 48, 248 and arrange for repair. Review all patient care forms and billing. Insure that station duties are performed as scheduled. Oversee record keeping as necessary. Act as liaison between , local E.M.S. authority and Medic 48 personnel. Assign Medic 48 personnel special duties or responsibilities and oversee their completion. Coordinate with the district training officer for in house medical training. Other duties normally performed by paramedic/firefighter-lead paramedic.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
Be familiar with local and state E.M.S. policies and procedures.
