SPECIAL DUTY ASSIGNMENT

Assignment Description:
To perform, in addition to their regular duty assignments, the duties of communications officer. To insure that the district's communications equipment is operational and arrange for replacement or repair of such equipment as the need arises.
Supervisor: Chief or designate.
Nature of Duties:
Maintain a current inventory of all the district's radio communications equipment. Arrange for repair of all radio equipment as needed. Maintain reports and records of radios, pagers, scanners and etc. Apply to F.C.C. for renewal of F.C.C license when needed. Recommend to chief or designate, future needs for additional or replacement equipment. Prepare an annual report for the chief on communications equipment.
Minimum Requirements:
Be familiar with district's communication system and equipment. Have basic knowledge of radio equipment and installation. Be familiar with F.C.C. regulations.
