OBJECTIVE Two person company will deploy 100 feet of 2½" hose from the rear hose bed and the 100 foot 1¾" hotel pack up a stairwell to the third floor landing of a building. The hose line will not be charged.

Given: Company members will perform the evolution in a safe manner from a spot approximately 50 feet from the stairwell door. Personnel will wear full protective clothing and don SCBA as part of the evolution. The apparatus transmission will be left in neutral. Time begins when the apparatus brake is set.

1. Member #1 makes size-up, gives directions and reports on conditions as the engine is spotted and the brake is set.

2. Member #2 spots the engine and simulates placing the pump in gear.

3. Both members exit the engine in a safe, unhurried manner.

4. Both members don SCBA to standard. Member #1 attaches a drop bag to the SCBA harness. Members may elect not to don SCBA masks until they arrive on the third floor

6. Member #2 assists Member #1 with placing 50 feet of 2½" hose from the rear hose bed onto the other shoulder of Member #1 in an accordion fold.

8. Both members proceed up the stairwell to the third floor landing, deploying the 2½" hose as they go.

9. Member #2 returns to the engine when he/she has deployed the 50 feet of 2½" hose. Member #2 breaks the connection at the engine and connects the hose to a 2½" discharge gate.

10. Member #1 stretches the 2½" hose to the third floor landing, deploys the hose pack, and attaches the gated wye to the 2½" hose. Member #1 advises Member #2 to charge the line.
