OBJECTIVE A two person engine company will place an appropriate preconnected hose line into service and extend it 400' in a progressive hose lay using 1½" wildland fire hose.

Given: All personnel shall wear full wildland protective clothing, including fire shelter. Evolution will be run on level to moderately sloped ground. Time begins when brake is set.

PROCEDURES

1. Member #1 makes size-up, gives directions and reports on conditions as the engine is spotted and brake is set.

2. Member #2 spots the engine and properly places pump in gear (PTO pump if so equipped).
